URLBirdy Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 29, 2026

URLBirdy is a Chrome extension used by internal teams to detect when multiple users open the same monitored page in a web application. This policy explains what information URLBirdy processes, how that information is used, and how it is protected.

What URLBirdy Does

URLBirdy helps teams avoid duplicate work by alerting users when another assigned teammate is already viewing the same monitored page. It supports internal user management, team assignment, monitored URL rules, and real-time overlap notifications.

How Information Is Used

What URLBirdy Does Not Do

Data Sharing

URLBirdy stores and processes its operational data in Firebase services configured for the extension. Data is used only to provide the extension's single purpose: notifying assigned teammates about monitored page overlap.

Retention

Presence records are intended to be temporary and are removed when users close a monitored tab, leave a monitored page, close the browser window, or sign out. Account, team, and URL rule records remain available until removed by an authorized administrator.

Security

Access to stored data is governed by Firebase Authentication and Firestore security rules. Administrative actions are limited to authorized users.

Google API Limited Use Disclosure

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
