URLBirdy Privacy Policy
URLBirdy is a Chrome extension used by internal teams to detect when multiple users open the same monitored page in a web application. This policy explains what information URLBirdy processes, how that information is used, and how it is protected.
What URLBirdy Does
URLBirdy helps teams avoid duplicate work by alerting users when another assigned teammate is already viewing the same monitored page. It supports internal user management, team assignment, monitored URL rules, and real-time overlap notifications.
Information Processed
- User profile information such as name, email address, role, and team membership.
- Authentication information needed to sign users in through Firebase Authentication.
- Monitored page URL data needed to determine whether two assigned users are on the same page.
- Basic activity state such as whether a monitored tab is open and active.
How Information Is Used
- To authenticate users and determine which team configuration applies to them.
- To compare monitored page URLs across assigned teammates and generate overlap alerts.
- To load user, team, and monitored URL settings in the extension interface.
- To maintain short-lived presence records required for real-time collision detection.
What URLBirdy Does Not Do
- It does not sell personal information.
- It does not use collected data for advertising, profiling, or unrelated analytics.
- It does not collect page content, form text, chat messages, or keystrokes.
Data Sharing
URLBirdy stores and processes its operational data in Firebase services configured for the extension. Data is used only to provide the extension's single purpose: notifying assigned teammates about monitored page overlap.
Retention
Presence records are intended to be temporary and are removed when users close a monitored tab, leave a monitored page, close the browser window, or sign out. Account, team, and URL rule records remain available until removed by an authorized administrator.
Security
Access to stored data is governed by Firebase Authentication and Firestore security rules. Administrative actions are limited to authorized users.
Google API Limited Use Disclosure
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
